+ Mirrored Glow - Look Down to Look Up

Most of us forget to look up. As we move through landscapes, our eyes remain fixed on the ground - on the path ahead, on the small screen in our hands, on the placement of our next step - while the canopy above, filled with life and movement, often goes unnoticed. This project begins with that simple act of redirection: to look down, is to look up.

At the heart of the installation is a gesture of inversion. A field of slender acrylic rods rises from the earth, some tipped with a small mirror that quietly waits for attention. When a visitor leans to look, they do not see their own face looking back. Instead, the mirrors return the branches of oaks, the flight of a bird, or the shifting clouds overhead. Reflection becomes revelation, and the act of glancing downward transforms into an experience of seeing outward and upward.
